Our Alberta Pro Hockey spring begins in the latter part of March/early April and continues into June. Spring hockey is a fantastic opportunity to keep your child skating, continue their development and build strong bonds and relationships in a short period of time. The season will end as per the individual needs and desires of each team. Practices throughout spring will be completed at various arenas across the Edmonton area.
Alberta Pro Hockey’s focus is on long-term player and team development. This is an all-inclusive program where all the skill development and power skating sessions are included. We will have ice scheduled as soon as possible so that families can plan their spring accordingly.
Spring coaches will be determined based on desire, availability, passion, and experience to be a valuable member of our APH coaching team. Many of our coaches participate in both our winter and spring programs. These coaches are supported by third party development partners such as Manah Hockey Development, Kurtis Mucha Goaltending, Perfect Skating, and more.
The following is a framework for the upcoming season and a starting point for what you can expect:
In addition to the APH practices, development sessions, and exhibition games, we’ll be participating in:
Our programs are cost-based and players are only charged for what is used for ice and equipment for the season. Our budget for the program is about $1600. If your team decides to do fundraisers, bottle drives or even seek out sponsorships that could help offset some of the costs and lower your fees. If you wish to provide a sponsorship for the spring season, we would appreciate it and upon request, we can supply a sponsorship letter you can use.
We will be getting players together for some team building before and during the season and we know that this bonding will be a key contributor to success on the ice and in building strong relationships.
